The Termez branch of Tashkent State Medical University was established on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev during his visit to Surkhandarya region on January 19-20, 2018, based on the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 172 dated March 5, 2018.
The main educational buildings of the university are located in 1 territory, in addition, about 30 clinical departments of the branch are located in state and non-state medical and preventive institutions in the city of Termez and the surrounding area. Students are educated in two shifts and fully cover the student capacity. The capacity of 2 educational buildings located on the territory of the branch is 2450 places.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, 4 faculties and 19 departments operate in the branch, 11 of which are clinical (specialty) departments. The branch has 3,760 students in 5 undergraduate majors and 20 clinical residency majors, of which 5,801 students are studying in full-time undergraduate majors and 131 students are studying in clinical residency majors. In the 2025-2026 academic year, 6 majors will be taught in the 1st year, 5 in the 2nd year, 3 in the 3rd and 4th years, and 2 in the 5th and 6th years.

Based on the curricula and subject programs (syllabuses) developed by Tashkent State Medical University for the 2025-2026 academic year, working curricula and subject programs (syllabuses) were discussed and approved at the 1st Council of the branch on August 31, 2025.
Also, a joint educational program agreement in the form of “3+3” was signed with the Privolzhsk Scientific Research Medical University of the Russian Federation and the Termez branch of TTA in 2021-2022. Today, within the framework of this joint educational program, therapeutic work and pediatrics directions have been established, and 75 students are studying in them.
The branch employs 671 full-time professors and teachers. Of these, 51 are professors and teachers with a scientific degree, of which 6 are doctors of sciences, 7 are professors, 21 are candidates of sciences, and 17 are associate professors. Currently, the scientific potential of the branch is 32.6%.
In order to conduct the educational process based on the requirements specified in the State Educational Standards, training laboratories for fundamental sciences (including medical chemistry, biochemistry, histology, physiology, microbiology) have been established. Free internet service has been established in the Information Resource Center (IRC). There are also videoconferencing devices, which are effectively used in the educational process.
To implement modern information technology and new pedagogical technologies in the educational process, 34 electronic boards and 4 video projectors have been installed. 160 computers are used in the educational process, 182 computers are used in departments, deaneries and departments. 346 computers in the branch are connected to the corporate network and the Internet. Currently, the Internet speed in the branch is 700 Mb/sec.
The main educational building has 1,500 seats, 129 of which are equipped with special audio and video devices and equipment. An electronic service is provided to users, ensuring the use of information and library resources. The center provides users with fast and high-quality information and library services through its http:// library. ttatf. uz, https:// t.me/ TTATF electronic library and the Telegram electronic library social network. Currently, the center has digitized 1,100 books and is placing them on its http:// library. ttatf.uz, https:// t.me/ TTATF electronic library sites. 39 titles of literature published abroad have been purchased from foreign countries. The GEOTAR – MEDIA database is used by professors and students. During 2020-2023, the branch purchased 39 titles and 195 copies of foreign educational literature worth 248,798,540 soums from OOO “Grand inter media” LLC ALFA PRESS for the center.
The branch information resource center has a general literature fund of 20,534 titles in 1,310 copies and a general electronic fund of 1,100 titles in electronic form.
The branch IRC reading rooms have 205 seats, and the average occupancy rate is 15%.
IRC operates in 2 shifts (1st shift from 09.00 to 17.00, 2nd shift from 17.00 to 21.00). A bookshelf with QR codes of necessary basic educational literature for students has been launched. Currently, work is underway to bring all literature according to the curriculum into this form. In addition, the library.ttatf.uz portal has been launched to use educational literature.
The level of provision of the educational process in a higher educational institution with educational literature and teaching-methodical materials. Our only Information Resource Center in Surkhor Darya region is equipped with a modern information library system AKBT technologies and is currently effectively working on assigning barcodes to books, as well as an additional WI-FI zone connected to the Internet (WI-FI) network and operating at a speed of 100 mbt/s, and an internet cable to which students’ computers are connected.
When analyzing the daily use of the information resource center by students, professors, teachers and staff of the branch, the average daily attendance is 350 students, professors and teachers.
The center has a 110-seat lecture hall, 2 book storage rooms equipped with camera equipment and fire safety rules are followed. 20 computers for the electronics department and 7 for staff, 1 printer and modern scanners, new and upholstered furniture, tables and chairs, book and catalog shelves, 2 cooling devices (air conditioners) and other equipment. Equipped in accordance with modern requirements.
The information resource center departments are in good condition, the level of provision with literature is 76%. Electronic (QR code) boards have been installed at the entrance to the ARM and in the 2nd student dormitory, and students are currently using them.
During 2020-2023, 26 professors and teachers published 16 textbooks, study guides, and monographs under the “Publication Plan” for the preparation and publication of educational literature of the branch.
Due to the state of provision of basic educational literature in the curricula (syllabus) of subjects and the need for educational literature in educational areas, 2,270 copies of educational literature were brought to the center for the 2023-2024 academic year.
