The seminar was attended by representatives of the Surkhandarya Regional Department of the Federal Fire Service, Lieutenant Colonel H. Qosimkhodjayev and Captain J. Vappayev, a specialist from the Surkhandarya Gas Supply branch, B. Muqimov, an employee of the Department of Public Health, Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing, N. Ibragimov, and a doctor from the Termez city emergency department, Ch. Azimov, as well as professors, teachers, employees, and students of the branch.
During the event, reports were heard on the following topics:
Prevention and preventive measures for carbon monoxide poisoning.
Botulism, causes of its transmission and first aid procedures.
Recommendations from representatives of relevant organizations.
The seminar explained in detail to the participants the consequences of improper use of heating equipment and gas appliances in apartments, the proper functioning of ventilation, and the need for regular technical inspections of equipment. The dangers of unauthorized modifications to gas appliances, signs of a gas leak, and the procedure for contacting the Emergency Service 104 were also mentioned.
The medical expert warned about the causes of botulism, in particular, the possibility of transmission through improperly stored canned goods, and explained the initial symptoms and the stages of providing necessary medical care.
The ambulance doctor demonstrated with practical examples the procedure for providing first aid in case of carbon monoxide poisoning or symptoms of botulism.
