As previously reported, the central office of the Ministry of Health has been awarded a certificate of compliance with the international standard for anti-corruption management systems (ISO 37001:2016). It was also one of the first in Central Asia to receive the updated version of this standard – ISO 37001:2025.

As noted at the event held on this occasion, within the framework of the “Legal Experiment”, the Ministry’s Internal Anti-Corruption Control Unit carried out the following this year:

Internal departmental mechanisms for combating corruption in the system have been strengthened, and 5 sectoral orders and 14 internal documents of the ministry have been adopted;

For the first time, the position of chief specialist for internal anti-corruption control was introduced in 14 regional departments and 63 system organizations, with direct subordination and accountability to the minister;

An appeal from the Minister and heads of regional departments to employees and the public on combating corruption was published;

A special subject called “Prevention of Corruption in Medicine” was established for students and medical staff at Tashkent State Medical University and other educational institutions. Over the past period, 2,700 bachelors, 870 masters, 1,856 doctors with higher education, and 13,804 paramedical staff were trained within its framework;

Seminars and trainings were organized in the medical institutions of the system, covering more than 52 thousand employees;

Cases of conflicts of interest (nepotism) identified in the economic sphere within the ministry were analyzed, and out of a total of 567 cases, 206 employees were dismissed and 364 were rotated;

A new preventive system, the “Situational Center”, has been launched to identify and prevent the misuse of budget funds and threats of corruption.

As a result, over-planning of funds worth 9.7 billion soums was prevented and funds worth 247 billion soums were optimized;

Monitoring of warranty obligations for medical equipment in public procurement has been established, and prices for work and services have been approved;

The short-numbered “Call Center” “1203” for quick reporting of corruption has been launched in 24/7 mode. Over 500 appeals have been received during the 11 months of this year;

The institute of “mystery shopper” was introduced to assess the quality of medical services and communication with the population;

November-December was declared the “Month of Combating Corruption” in the ministry and its system organizations, and more than 700 legal and promotional events were held within this framework;

235 “Open Doors Day” events were organized in the regions, and 335 “Open Dialogue” discussions and roundtable discussions were held with the participation of more than 20,000 public representatives.

At the event, it was emphasized that this international certificate will serve to further increase accountability to the people, and that the uncompromising fight against corruption is the duty of every employee.

The event participants also learned about the work being carried out by the ministry to digitize the sector.

Finally, certificates of appreciation were presented to a group of industry workers who have been performing their duties with dedication and dedication.
